Mumbai, Study always gives us a vision to look at those social aspect that need to improve, students of NITIE college of Mumbai one of the india’s top 10 B-school is going to show there education value by completing there social responsibility. NITIE is organizing a unique event on the 1st of August, 2009 (Saturday) in Mumbai called "Mandi", an exclusive programme which instils the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in the students of NITIE in their very first module. Mandi is a daylong event where around 350 NITIE students hit the Mumbai city streets selling educative toys manufactured by Navnirmiti, an NGO working for the economically deprived children. This exercise inculcates a sense of Corporate Social Responsibility and helps the students validate the various management concepts learnt in class. Mandi has done in the collaboration with Navnirmiti, an NGO that works underprivileged children. In this task around 350 students of NITIE will sell the educational toys that are made with innovative educative methods and specially have designed to stimulate child's imagination and teach the basic concepts of mathematics to a disorganized market and will earn the practical experience of sales, logistics, strategy and marketing. Mandi has established in 1963 by the Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme through the ILO, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) mandi stands as a hallmark in the NITIE curriculum as it integrates the theoretical Principles of managerial economics, marketing , basic market research, consumer Behavior and direct selling along with their practical applications.
