BSP releases candidates list for Rajasthan Assembly, LS polls

The BSP today released its list of 155 candidates for the Assembly polls in Rajasthan and 13 for Lok Sabha elections

Jaipur, Sept 1 (ANI): The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today released its list of 155 candidates for the Assembly polls in Rajasthan and 13 for Lok Sabha elections.

The list included the name of Jagat Singh, son of former External Affair Minister K. Natwar Singh.

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) rebel MLA Madan Mohan Singhal also got a ticket.

"He is being fielded from Kama Assembly constituency," said BSP general secretary Dharamveer Singh Ashok to reporters.

Yashwant Ramu, former independent MLA has been given ticket from Nadbai seat. Shashi Dutta, former minister in Shekhawat government, and former MLA Bhanjibhai have been given the tickets from Hindon and Banswara Assembly seats respectively.

"The list of remaining 45 Assembly constituencies would be declared soon," said Ashok.

The names of two sitting BSP MLAs, Murarilal Meena of Bandikui constituency and Suresh Meena of Karauli constituency, does not figure in the list.

However the seats have been kept open for them, said Ashok.

The 12 Lok Sabha candidates are: Vijay Peshwani from Jaipur city, Haji Abdul Gaffar from Alwar, Bharat Singh Tanwar from Sikar, Dr. Padam Singh from Bharatpur, Hattiram Yadav from Dholpur Karauli, Sitaram Meghwal from Ganganagar, Vedprakash Gujjar from Tonk Swaimadhopur, Harish Bhati from Bhilwara, Rajesh Kumar Agarwal from Churu, Manoj Yadav from Ajmer, Lalji Bhai from Banswara and Mithalal Jain from Jalore(Sirohi).

The Assembly poll is scheduled later this year while the general election will be held next year. (ANI)
