Lahore, Sep 1 (ANI): The Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shafqat Naghmi, has denied reports that he took a unilateral decision to fix a tri-series in South Africa without taking the board's International Cricket Committee into confidence. Former cricketers and officials have questioned Naghmi's authority to hold negotiations with the Cricket South Africa after the resignation of PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf. However, Naghmi has rubbished this criticism. "These reports are completely untrue. The whole thing is in the knowledge of the chairman of the International Cricket Committee of the PCB, Ali Raza, " Daily Times quoted Naghmi, as claiming. " And before we started negotiations, the former chairman Nasim Ashraf was also in office, he had not relinquished his post at that time. So absolutely, there is no truth in this story," said Naghmi. The South Africa tri-series will be given final shape over the next few days but only after the International Cricket Committee of the board reviews the tentative dates and programme and approves them, he added.
