Rajasthan's three districts awarded for excellent execution in National Rural Employment Guarantee Act scheme
New Delhi, Rajasthan's three districts e.g. Dungarpur, Sirohi and Jalore have been awarded by Government of India for their excellent execution in National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NAREGA) scheme. The Union Rural Development Ministry selected 22 districts of 13 states in country who have registered their outstanding performance in execution of NAREGA.
The awards were given away by Union Foreign Minister Shri Pranav Mukherjee in New Delhi during a grand function of completing three successful years of NAREGA Program. On the occasion UPA Chairperson Smt Sonia Gandhi and Union Rural Development Minister Dr Raghuwansh Prasad Singh were also present.
On behalf of the awarded districts Dungarpur district collector Dr Arushi Ajoy Malik, former collector Shri Neeraj Kumar Pawan, Sirohi district collector Shri P Ramesh and Jalore district collector Shri S S Bissa received the certificates of merit.
After receiving the prize Dungarpur collector Dr Arushi A Malik told that Dungarpur has gained country wide popularity in execution of NAREGA through innovative works, creating permanent asset and other eminent achievements. She added, Dungarpur district remained on top in participation of maximum number of families in this program, gained the highest average score in availing 100 day job and stood top in 'on line must role feeding scheme ' (MFS), therefore was being selected for this award.
It is remarkable that in a Two Day NAREGA International Seminar held on 21, 22 January 2009 in New Delhi, former collector Dungarpur Shri Neeraj K Pawan made a very effective presentation as how the district deserved to be nominated for National Award. The Union Rural Development Minister Shri Raghuwansh Prasad Singh appreciated the remarkable achievement made by the district during 2007-08.
