Mumbai, Apr 3 (ANI): Textile giant Park Avenue with its dapper collection on theenultimate day of Lakme Fashion Week set the trend for the coming season.

The Park Avenue Autumn-Winter 2008 collection was a slick and elegant presentation of garments in fabrics of high standard and quality.

While the designs emulated '80s silhouettes, men's wear collection comprised of the Corporate, Leisure and Evening lines.

The ladies wear comprised of four categories namely Celestial Nights, Sun Kissed Terrain, Passion Darks and Black and White.

Celestial Nights represented the transition of seasons from summer to winter and consisted of mainly blue tones.

Sun Kissed Terrain had an eco-friendly theme and colours were earthy.

Passion Darks was all about eveningwear in reds, pinks, lavender and bronze and Black and White used polka dots and solid blacks to make a statement.

The silhouettes of both the collections were slim with men's jackets cut close to the body and having double back vents, while women's wear had short jackets with flap pockets.

Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director Raymond Limited while interacting with the media seemed very up beat about the collection and his company's objectives.

"I think the Park Avenue team has done a fabulous job in creating this collection and as you can see the whole action is on youthful market that is out here today. But more important is what I think is the heritage and technology that this organization has been heralding over 80 years that's what goes into making top quality garments. In our group we stand for quality, trust and excellence," said Singhania.

The finale of the show saw the man behind the brand, Gautam Hari Singhania along with his wife Nawaz Singhania sashaying down the ramp wearing creations from the Park Avenue's latest collection. (ANI)
