New Delhi, July 3 (ANI): President Pratibha Patil today planted a sapling of the Caribbean Trumpet Tree (Tecoma Argentea) or commonly known as Basant Rani at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in the President' Estate here. The occasion marked the launch of the Vana Mahotsav, under which 1000 saplings shall be planted in the President's Estate. Today's sapling planting programme marked the flagging off of the 'Clean India - Green India' Programme of the Giants International. The Giants International is a social organisation under the chairmanship of Nana Chudasama. The Giants International shall be planting a minimum of one-lakh plants all over the country this year. Plants suitable to different geographical conditions in the country shall be planted with special focus on trees with long life, which provide good shade and ample oxygen such as Neem, Badam and Pipal.
