Jodhpur, Aug 3 A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva reverberated with sounds of cymbals amid chanting of hymns in Jodhpur as 51 priests prayed for peace, harmony and prosperity in the country.

The priests said that they prayed to the Lord to bless the whole country.

"We believe that with this not only Rajasthan, but the entire India will usher in peace, harmony and prosperity," said Lakshmi Kant, a priest.

The eight-day long prayer session was organised to coincide with holy monsoon month of Shravan, devoted to Lord Shiva.

"A total of 1331 hymns chanted by the priests for continuous 200 hours," said Sridhar Giri, another priest.

The 200-hour long prayer, which saw the participation of priests from across the country, concluded on Sunday. (ANI)
