Ghaziabad, March 4 (IANS) Naresh Tyagi, who attempted to murder his wife with the help of contract killers, Thursday committed suicide by shooting himself, police said.

Tyagi, a resident of Bhaneda, married Asha in 2007. He became involved in an extra-marital affair. When his wife came to know of it, he hired killers for Rs.30,000 to murder her.

On Feb 22, Tyagi took Asha to Haridwar where the killers administered intoxicated substance to her. When she became unconscious, they throttled her and dumped her from the car.

Miraculously, she survived, returned to her family and alerted the police.

Tyagi, who could not be arrested, killed himself. His body was found in a farm. 'He died of remorse,' said Superintendent of Police M.M. Baig.
