London, July 4 (ANI): Formula One ace racer Lewis Hamilton has said that he is fed up with people saying he's lost his focus, and refuted suggestions that he enjoys being a party animal.

Hamilton, 23, has suddenly decided to confront these whispers head on, reports The Sun.

"You know," he said, "I'm still that guy that used to turn up at Silverstone years ago and watch Kimi driving my car. I'm still that guy who used to stand on the bank on the inside of Copse, thinking 'I know I can be here one day. I'm still that guy who used to wonder what it must be like for Kimi walking around when there are thousands of people chanting your name and waving your flag," he was quoted, as saying.

If people were worrying about the demands of his social life, he said, they shouldn't.

"I don't like drinking alcohol. I do sometimes have a drink. If my mates want to go out and stuff, then maybe, but the majority of the time I don't, especially in the season," he said.

"I feel like if you go for a long run and do all your training and work hard and then you go to a nightclub that has smoke in it, it knocks out everything you've just done and pushes you back. So, I try to avoid doing it," he said. (ANI)
