CII, WorldSkills Korea sign skills development MoU

New Delhi, July 4 (ANI): The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and WorldSkills Korea today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance and promote the international exchange of skills through the WorldSkills Competition.

The work on the development of e-learning module on welding and industrial control has been initiated as part of the MoU. The e-learning modules will be subsequently offered to 50 other member countries of WorldSkills International.

The MoU will facilitate: (1) Exchange of information related to the National technical qualification tests (2) Support skills training for competitors of the National and International skills competitions (3) Develop and validate e-Learning Modules with IT Interactive technology in the specified skills as mutually agreed upon and (4) Provide training to trainers and managers in improving their skills standards in India.

WorldSkills Korea has also offered to train the Indian experts at the Seoul Institute of Vocational Training on Advance Technology (SIVAT).

CII represents India at the WorldSkills International which is a not for profit organization. Every two years hundreds of young skilled people, accompanied by their teachers and trainers, gather together from around the world to compete before the public showcasing skills in various trades and testing themselves against demanding international standards at WorldSkills International Competitions.

The MoU was signed by S K Kakkar, Principal Counsellor CII and Kim Yong Dal, President Human Resource Development Services Korea and Chairman WorldSkills Korea.

CII will be the nodal agency to work with WorldSkills Korea / HRD Korea to cover the scope of this MOU. (ANI)
