GIIP Announces certificate courses in IP

Global Institute of Intellectual Property(GIIP) Announces Post Graduate Certificate Courses In International Patents and Intellectual Property Services - BASIC, LEGAL AND TECHNICAL TRACKS

New Delhi, Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP) launches the Post Graduate Certificate Courses (evening classes) for Working Professionals, Corporate Executive and Students, due to commence in Aug 2008. In June’08 GIIP commenced its full-time, 6-month Dual Certificate program in collaboration with University of Washington, USA. GIIP’s Courses are designed for graduates and post-graduates (B.Sc./B.Tech., M.Sc./M.Tech., Ph.D.) in engineering, bio-technology,  Pharma and other technical fields, and legal professionals (LL.B. & LL.M.).

Ms. Girija Varma, Dean GIIP & Attorney, (LLM Cornell, Fellow Stanford Law School), Ex-Director (IP) Microsoft Corporation stated “At GIIP we have put together specialized programs to provide comprehensive knowledge in business and legal aspects of international IP & patents. Apart from the legal framework, the programs teach the practical aspects of writing patents, other forms of Techno-legal IP documents and US and Indian filing procedure.”

Prof Mrs. Toshiko Takenaka, Director, CASRIP and head of the LLM IP program at University of Washington said "We have found the programs of GIIP to be very timely and innovative for the training of professionals to address the increasing activities in patents and IP that is accompanying India’s impressive economic growth. The cooperative program will allow our faculty to participate in joint seminars and research projects, as well as the training programs of GIIP".

Professor Dr. Heinz Goddar, Patent Attorney Germany, GIIP Senior Adviser said “For global success, Indian companies are increasing their investment in research and development. For effective commercial exploitation of these investments, sharp skills in IP are required and GIIP is addressing this important and growing need. Knowledge from institutions such as UW CASRIP is indeed valuable”

Dr. Kailash Joshi (Ph.D. Cornell), Chairman and Mentor, GIIP confirmed that professionals who graduated from the past programs of GIIP have all been successfully placed with well known Corporate, KPOs / LPOs and Law Firms.

GIIP offers Post Graduate Certificate courses in International Patents & Intellectual Property services. The audience for these courses is working professionals and students who would like to pursue training along with their other professional commitments. Lectures will be conducted by IP Attorney’s and experts from US, Europe and India. The CEO GIIP states that participants will have an option to avail education loan from HDFC Bank for the courses.

GIIP, a training institute co-headquartered in New Delhi, India and San Jose, USA, has been set up by a team of successful entrepreneurs, US lawyers and IP practitioners, to conduct a series of training programs, seminars & workshops and create a pool of high caliber IP & patent professionals of international standards.
