Lahore, Sept 4 (ANI): Pakistan has refused to recognise neuroscientist "terror suspect" Dr Aafia Siddiqui's children as its citizens and secure their release from Afghanistan, Aafia's sister Dr Fauzia Siddiqui has reportedly said.

She said that her family had filed a case in an American court to seek the children's custody, reported the Daily Times.

The family lawyer says that the US State Department has told the court that the Pakistani government was not willing to recognise and secure the release of the children from Afghanistan.

She said that the State Department had also written to her brother Muhammad Ali that the children would not be handed over to him as he had failed to appear in court for over two weeks. (ANI)
