New Delhi, Nov 4 Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor on Wednesday said that time had come for the country to say no tolerance for more 26/11-type attacks.

Speaking at a conference on Assessment of External and Internal Security Situation, here, General Kapoor said, India has time and again let free the perpetrators of terror attacks but now it should adopt zero tolerance towards such people.India has allowed people to get away after Parliament attack, the Delhi blasts, and finally the 26/11 incident. The time for all of us has come to say, no more," he added.

Stressing on the need for a strong and technologically advanced security system in the country, General Kapoor said, "India cannot afford to witness a repeat of 26/11. May I therefore recommend that the nation needs to forge ahead towards acquiring a nationwide architecture for facilitating speedy flow of intelligence, an updated database for providing decision support based on geographical information system and a network of quick execution of plans by the nearest suitable security agency."

According to media reports, the defence intelligence agencies have alerted the Home Ministry about a major terrorist threat to coastal states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka.

As the first anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks is round the corner, the Central government has sounded alert and has called up for extra vigil in cities like Mumbai and Ahmedabad. (ANI)
