National Conference on recent Technological Trends in Management & Library System New Delhi, Jan 4, 2008: A National Conference on Recent Technological Trends in Management and Library System to discuss the issues and challenges in the prevailing scenario was organized today by Asia-Pacific Institute of Management (AIM). 

Speaking on the occasion, AIM Chairman Mr A K Shrivastava said that “In the recent years, impact of technology has been tremendous on Library Systems. In academic environment, library is deemed as a place of intellectual stimulation and epicenter of knowledge”.

“In 1980s and 90s the information seekers were mainly dependent on printed resources and libraries were unique places for providing such information”, Mr Shrivastava said and added that “the past two decades have seen a great deal of change due to Information & Communication Technology (ICT) resulting in a demand for new patterns of scholarly information”.

Dr D. Pathak, Director, AIM, said that “with the advent of globalization and changing socio-economic paradigm, the whole management concept has changed in every sphere of life. The whole gamut of management theory has evolved with the advent of technological changes like CRM, SAT etc. so the current professionals need to be on their toes and have to keep themselves abreast about the changes”.

NATAD Director Dr C V Ramanan, the Chief Guest while launching the Book, titled “Recent Technological Trends in Management and Library System: Issues and Challenges” said, “Technological advancements have made significant impact on growth of knowledge and unlocking the human potential”.

The sub-themes to be discussed during the two-day event include Digitization: Issues and Problems, Consortia, E-Governance, RFID, Virtual Library, Technological Trends in HRM, Strategic Management, Technological Trends in Marketing, Retail, Sales & Advertising, Technological Trends in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Role of IT in Management, E-Resource, Information & Communication Technology and E-marketing.
