London, June 5 International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Haroon Lorgat insists that he would not be seduced into programming more Twenty20 tournaments at the international level.

Describing the attraction of Twenty20 as very tempting, Lorgat, however, said he would not consider increasing the limit of three Twenty20 internationals per country per season outside the world championships.

"It is always tempting to have more but it's not clever to have more," Lorgat told The Age as India beat Pakistan in a trial game ahead of the second Twenty20 World Cup competition that begins in London today.

"I think we must be careful that we don't fall for temptation and that we manage our program. We have said we must be careful of the dosage of Twenty20 which will be predominantly domestic, and we should focus on Test cricket and 50-over cricket, with Twenty20 internationals at a major event or as tour opener or at the end of a series," Lorgat added.

He said that he did not agree with Australian coach Tim Nielsen, who has recently called on administrators to schedule multiple Twenty20 games rather than one-off "exhibition" matches at either end of 50-over series, to reflect the growing seriousness of the format. (ANI)
