Palm Beach (Florida), March 6 (IANS) Jeev Milkha Singh made good progress despite late reverses in the second round of the $5.6-million Honda Classic tournament golf here.

Jeev's bogey-free front nine, which included three birdies, saw him reach three-under with just three holes to go. But bogeys on the 16th and 17th saw him end the round at one-under 69 on the second day. The round helped him move up from tied 43rd to tied 29th.

Jeev has a two-day total of one-under 140. After playing the first two holes to par, Jeev birdied the third, fifth and seventh to turn in three-under.

On the back nine, Jeev bogeyed the 11th hole but quickly made up with a birdie on the 12th. Then the bogeys on 16th and 17th saw him slide further.

Also tied at same score with Jeev are Lee Westwood, the reigning Race to Dubai champion, and young Rory McIlroy, both of whom also had even par 140.

Flamboyant Colombian Camilo Villegas (66) and American Anthony Kim (64) share the lead with totals of eight-under 132. Fijian Vijay Singh (66) followed them a stroke adrift at the lone third spot.
