New Delhi, July 6 (ANI): The Congress has ruled out the question of a vote of confidence demanded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), contending that the Government lacks majority in the Lok Sabha.

Replying to the scathing attack of the BJP, the Congress said that as no party had withdrawn support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government, there is no need to prove its majority in Parliament.

"The opposition is living in an imaginative world. They are desperate to become Prime Minister and so have diverted their view from the reality," said All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Manish Tiwari.

"Who sent a letter to the President to withdraw support? Government is fully stable. And on such an occasion when PM is going for a summit, we expect the opposition not to pass wrong comments," Tiwari added.

Meanwhile, while reacting to the demand by BJP for a special session of Parliament, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Forward bloc said that the Left parties have not yet withdrawn support from the UPA Government so the question of a special session does not arise.

The Left parties further added that in view of the country's sovereignty no hard decision would be taken on the July 8 meeting, as the Prime Minister would be abroad on an official visit from July 7. (ANI)
