London, Oct 6 British pop singer Sophie Ellis Bextor has joined a campaign of 10,000 people, which is demanding an end to child poverty. The campaigners marched on Westminster on October 5 with their demand for an end to child poverty in Britain. Joining them was former Eastenders star Chris Parker, who called on Gordon Brown to spend three billion pounds more, reminding him to keep his promise to halve the number of youngsters living below the breadline in two years. "We will in law make it the duty of Government by 2020 to eradicate child poverty in this country," the Mirror quoted the PM as telling the campaigners. As per the findings, there are around 5.5million children living in families with less than 10 pounds per person per day to live on. (ANI)
