Madge's hubby making 'last ditch attempt' save marriage

London, July 7 (ANI): Hollywood filmmaker Guy Ritchie is making a "last ditch attempt" save his marriage with pop queen Madonna, say people close to the couple.

Pals say that Guy has been lavishing Madge with gifts and flowers because he just does not want to lose her after seven years together.

They, however, add that the couple might have agreed to call a truce, yet the motivation for long-term reconciliation did not seem to be there on both sides.

"Guy has realised just how close they are to coming to the end of the road. He is making a big effort to stop that. He couldn't bear not seeing his kids on a daily basis," the Daily Express quoted a source as saying.

"He has been buying Madonna flowers and little tokens of his affection. He's really trying but who knows what will happen?" the source added.

Referring to Madonna's own statement by which she denied any split last night, the newspaper report also suggested that Guy's efforts appeared to be bearing fruit.

"My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce," she said.

As regards her alleged link to a US baseball star, Madonna said: "I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez."

While Guy is said to have taken marriage guidance from LA Kabbalah Centre's founder and his friend Rabbi Yehuda Berg, insiders have predicted that Madonna may seek divorce when her world tour ends in November.

"They have had separate rooms for a while because Guy snores quite loudly, but now Guy spends a lot of time away from home," said a source.

"It really is the children and their Kabbalah faith which seems to have kept them together so long. They both hate the thought of breaking up their family but Madonna seems to have made up her mind. We shall see if Guy's efforts can change it," the source added. Guy is currently looking after children-Lourdes, 11, Rocco, seven, and two-year-old David-in the couple's apartment in New York.

Meanwhile, Madonna, who turns 50 next month, is rehearsing her tour, which begins in Cardiff on August 23 and finishes in Miami in November.

The couple will hardly see each other during that time. (ANI)
