London, July 8 (ANI): American rock band Blondie has revealed that they will be releasing a new album in the year to come.

The news of the release was revealed by the band's drummer Clem Burke when they made their appearance at the weekend's Guilfest as part of their world tour.

"We're going to try and make another record in the next year," Daily Mirror quoted him as saying.

The band, who are currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their seminal album Parallel Lines, say they have been inspired by their seminal album Parallel Lines, to try and bring out another album.

It will be their first new material since the release of The Curse Of Blondie in 2003.

"It's been great. We're enjoying it as much as we ever did. It's fun, especially this time of year, it's almost like being on holiday. The audiences especially here in the UK are uplifting," Burke added.

Blondie, featuring their iconic lead singer Deborah Harry, are meanwhile playing the mainland European leg of their world tour before returning to the UK on July 20 to play Latitude Festival. (ANI)
