Ajmer, Aug 8 In an attempt to attract more customers to his shop, a coconut vendor in Ajmer has derived a unique formula.

To boost sales during the holy month of Sharavan, Avatar Singh, a coconut vendor named his coconuts after two popular leaders of the state viz. Ashok Gehlot, State Chief Minister and Kirori Singh Bainsla, a popular leader of Gujjar community.

Both Bainsla and Gehlot are currently in the news over the reservation bill that provides for five per cent reservation to Gujjar and other backward communities of Rajasthan.ow these unique coconuts are attracting the attention of customers.

"I bought a coconut from the Bainsla range. I chose this coconut because Bainsla is popular now a days," said Deepak, a customer.

Another customer added that the vendor has been selling the coconuts under popular names for decades.

"For the last 20 years, he has been selling his coconuts under different names. This year, he chose the name of Gehlot and Bainsla and people are buying coconuts due to these names," said Ramesh, another customer.

Avatar Singh, who devised this unique business model to sell his coconuts, said that naming coconuts after popular leaders helps in lightening the mood besides boosting the sales.

"Whenever some incident occurs, we start selling coconuts under those names The cost of coconuts under Gehlot range is fixed at Rupees 10 per piece since they are big in size. Whereas the price of Bainsla is fixed at Rupee 8 as they are a bit smaller. It helps in lightening the mood besides boosting the sales of coconuts," he said.

Avatar Singh added that earlier he named his coconuts after cricketers and Prime Ministers. By Kishor Singh Solanki (ANI)
