Srinagar, Oct 8 Security forces are continuing with their manhunt for Lashkar -e -Taiba (LeT) militants hiding in the jungles of Pampore in southern Kashmir. Seventy two hours of their search and nab operation, the army has busted a terrorist hideout but failed to nab the militants who managed to flee under the cover of fire. The manhunt was launched in the wee hours of Monday. Choppers have been pressed into the operation to aid in the tracking down of the terrorists hiding in the forests. Security forces suspect that over nine terrorists, including Lashkar's South Kashmir commander Abu Rehman Bhai are hiding under the thick green cover. Rahman, a Pakistani national, is said to be behind the IED explosion that was triggered off in front of the Srinagar Central Jail last month. The security forces have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for anyone revealing the whereabouts of Rahman. According to sources, Rehman was actively involved in convincing more youngsters of the state to join ranks of the Lashkar. A red alert has been sounded across the state after the terrorists had fled. A huge cache of arms and ammunition, blankets, mattresses, and cartons of food, dry fruits and even water has been recovered from the busted hideout. (ANI)
