Aimed to promote quality blogging and to spot promising talent among Indians globally, Sulekha.com BLOGPRINT contest, in association with Penguin books, is open to all bloggers registered on Sulekha.com. The contest will run for a period of 6 months, from August 10th, 2007, till January 31st, 2007. Every week starting August 10th, the two best blogs on Sulekha.com will be awarded a cash prize Rs. 10,000/- each. 52 winning blogs will be finalised by the end of the contest based on their originality, quality of penmanship and expressiveness. During the 6 months of the competition, the 52 winners will collectively win cash prizes totalling Rs. 520,000/-.
The 52 winning entries will be evaluated by a jury comprising of luminaries from the literary world. The jury will then shortlist the selected 52 blogs to 25. These 25 top blog entries will be published by Penguin Books. The book is scheduled to hit the stands on July 1st, 2008.
The online writing contest is the brainchild of Sulekha.com to popularise quality blog content.
