Eight killed in Islamabad suicide blast

Islamabad, Oct 9 At least eight persons were killed and several injured in a powerful suicide bomb blast at a building near the Police line in Islamabad this afternoon.

Initial news reports said that the bomb was planted in a car.

Quoting sources, The News reported that the suspected suicide bomber hit his explosive-laden vehicle with ATS barrack in which one part of the building was completely gutted.

According to the paper, dark clouds of smoke were seen over police line.

Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that the blast was so loud that it smashed the glass windows of nearby buildings.

Ambulances have been put into service to take the injured to nearby hospitals. (ANI)
