London, October 9 Prince William and Prince Harry will soon join a gruelling 1000 mile motorbike trek across Africa, where the royal heirs would ride through some of the world's most dangerous terrain.

Both the Princes, who shall ride up to 12 hours a day, will compete on special trail bikes built to withstand the steep hills and dirt tracks of South Africa.

"It is a very tough challenge. They face incredibly steep and dangerous terrain," the Sun quoted organiser Simon Smith as saying.

He said: "It's a treacherous route with blood-curdling descents.

"They will sleep in tents and barns. There will be no posh hotels or luxury spas."

The 26-year-old Wills is said to have convinced his younger brother to participate in the eight-day 'Enduro Africa' challenge - dreaded by even professional bikers.

The Royals will ride with 80 other volunteers who hope to raise 300,000 pounds for charity.

One source said: "The princes know it will be tough but they are quite competitive. Neither would want to lose to the other." (ANI)
