Two-year-old Sonu was playing near the 150 feet deep borewell, which was eft uncovered, when he fell inside.

The rescue operation was in full swing till late in the night to save Sonu, who is trapped at a depth of around 70 feet.

"A 35-feet-deep hole has been dug parallel to the borewell. Oxygen gas is being supplied inside the borewell through pipe. Earlier, there was some movement of child, but now since last two to three hours there has been no movement," said Raghubir Lal, senior superintendent of police of Agra.

This is not the first case of a child falling into an uncovered manhole in the country.
