Pune, Nov 10 Memoirs of the medieval era emperors were recently displayed at an exhibition in Pune.

The two-day exhibition, organized by the Indian Historical Amendment Committee, displayed centuries old coins, hand-written letters and arms and ammunitions belonging to the rulers of the medieval age.

The exhibition has been attracting visitors of all ages who were enthralled by the vintage collection.

"We saw letters and coins written by the historical leaders. The episodes of history that we had only heard about were in front of us; I felt great. The children were also very excited to see all this. They felt very proud about the fact that the letters, coins and arms displayed here are a part of the Indian history," said Ketki, a visitor.

"These exhibitions should be held more often as the children get to know about the history of their country and gain a lot of knowledge through this," she added.

"We have displayed old letters of Indian rulers like Nizam Shah, Adil Shah and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj," said Mandar Lavate, organizer of the exhibition. The first ever income tax deposited by the Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is also on display," he added.

Arms like swords and canon balls used by Rani Lakshmibai, the Queen of princely state Jhansi, were also exhibited. (ANI)
