Two held in Delhi for human trafficking

New Delhi, March 12 Delhi Police Friday said it had busted an international human trafficking racket with the arrest of a man and a woman here. Two fake visa stickers of Canada, 15 Indian passports and nine Nepali passports were recovered from their possession.

New Delhi, March 12 (IANS) Delhi Police Friday said it had busted an international human trafficking racket with the arrest of a man and a woman here. Two fake visa stickers of Canada, 15 Indian passports and nine Nepali passports were recovered from their possession.

'Chung Chung Doma Bhutia, 44, and Nasiruddin, 29, were arrested Thursday on the basis of a specific information from Gandhi Vihar and Connaught Place area respectively,' a senior police officer said.

The police conducted investigations after it received information that three Pakistanis were actively involved in human trafficking with an Indian.

'Investigations were held after police received an information that one Shah Sahib, a Pakistani based in Bangkok, along with his associates Azhar Bhatt and Sahfiq Bhat were involved in the racket with the help of an Indian national.

'On Thursday Chung Chung Doma Bhutia, originally a resident of Sikkim, was arrested from her rented accommodation in Gandhi Vihar. On interrogation, she confessed of her involvement in human trafficking and disclosed that she procures the forged visa stickers from Shah Sahib after which she provides it to other people,' the officer said.

'On her revelation, her associate Nasiruddin was arrested from Connaught Place area. He revealed that he managed to send seven persons via Bangkok to Canada and other European countries,' the officer said.

The accused used to charged Rs.650,000 from each person from which they used to get Rs.100,000 as their share.
