Ranchi, March 12 The child mortality rate in Jharkhand has fallen steeply over the last nine years, Health Minister Baijnath Ram said here Friday.

Ranchi, March 12 (IANS) The child mortality rate in Jharkhand has fallen steeply over the last nine years, Health Minister Baijnath Ram said here Friday.

'The child mortality rate of Jharkhand was 72 in 2000, which reduced to 46 (in 2009). The national child mortality rate is 53,' Ram told reporters.
