Chidambaram assures to find out details of missing Nuke scientist

Srinagar, June 12 Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Friday said that he would enquire about the details of the mysterious disappearance of a 47-year-old scientist from Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant in Karnataka.

"When I will go back to Delhi, I will find out. I will find out what efforts have been made," Chidambaram told media persons here on Friday.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which guards the plant and local police, have launched a joint operation to trace scientist, N Mahalingam, who went missing five days ago.

The team is trying to investigate whether it was a case of abduction or the scientist went somewhere by himself.

According to local police officials, Mahalingam, who worked at the Simulator Training Division of the Power Plant went for a morning walk on June 8 but did not return. A complaint was lodged by his wife on the same day in Mallapur police station in Karwar. (ANI)
