Jaipur, The members of the 13th Finance Commission would visit the state from June 20 to June 23. The fifteen member commission would be headed by Dr. Vijay L. Kelkar.
A meeting was held here in Secretariat on Friday under the Chairmanship of Finance Secretary Deepak Upreti to discuss the preparations ahead of the visit of the Finance Comission. Describing the importance of the proposed visit of the Finance Commission Upreti said that devolution of funds to the State by the Centre in next five years would be decided in the the rounds of meetings of Commission with the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and senior officials during the visit of the Commission. The State Government would put forward its objectives and problems during the discussions, he said.
The members of the Finance Commission would arrive Jaipur on June 20 evening. The next day they would go for sight seeing. On June 22 the various rounds of meeting would start in the morning including meeting with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Cabinet Ministers and senior officials. The Principal Secretaries of different departments would also make presentation on important subjects during the meeting. In the afternoon the members of the Commission would meet representatives of the local bodies, political parties, trade organisations and entrepreneurs. On June 23 they would visit the field.
