Ahmedabad, Jan 13 Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has said that his government is looking to promote "pro-active good governance", as this was one way to attract foreign investment to the State.

Inaugurating the fourth 'Vibrant Gujarat Investors' Summit here on Monday, Modi said: "My government is not limited to good governance. We are trying our level best to be pro-active good governance. And when pro-active good governance is there, I am sure that by and large investors will be happy, common man will be happy, the environment will support the progress."

"Environment will itself support the development and ultimately development brings the development. This is very natural phenomenon," he added.

Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Sunil Mittal, Ratan Tata, Kumarmanglam Birla and K V Kamath were some of the business bigwigs who were in attendance.

Ambani said that they were commissioning a new refinery at Jamnagar inujarat.

"In the year 2009, we are commissioning our new refinery at Jamnagar, which makes Jamnagar the largest and most modern refinery," said Ambani.

Representatives from a whopping 40 countries are taking part in the meet, which has Japan as the partner country for this year's summit.

Tata's proposed small car, Nano, is expected to be a major attraction at the event, where it would be displayed for the second time after the auto show in New Delhi last year. (ANI)
