Kolkata, Feb 13 (IANS) Guess what drove Indian cricket skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni to the city police headquarters at Lalbazar? His love for old motorbikes.

A passionate motorbike lover, Dhoni took the policemen by surprise Friday night when he came calling after being told that the police headquarters has an old model of a motorbike.

Lalbazar was suddenly abuzz with activity and a large crowd gathered in the building's vicinity as Dhoni's visit became public.

It did not take long for the media to get a tip-off on Dhoni's Lalbazar adventure. Hordes of electronic media personnel and photographers rushed to the spot. Speculation was rife as nobody was sure why the cricketing icon had suddenly gone inside the police headquarters. Dhoni added to the suspense by refusing to answer any of the queries from the scribes while leaving Lalbazar.

But later the picture was clear.

'Some police officers had told the Indian skipper that the city police has an old model of motorbike - Yamaha 350 - kept in the headquarters premises. So, he went to Lalbazar,' Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint secretary Biswarup Dey told IANS.

'I have been receiving umpteen number of phone calls from mediapersons who seemed all at sea,' said a smiling Dey.

Dey said Dhoni also rode the bike.

The officers wasted no time in seizing the opportunity and having their pictures clicked with the star cricketer.

Joint Commissioner of police Javed Shamim said that the city cops have two such bikes.

Dhoni was presented with a pewter mug bearing the insignia of the city police.
