Ledger would be proud of Golden Globe win, says dad

London, Jan 14 Heath Ledger's father has said that his son would have been very proud of his Golden Globe win.

Kim Ledger, was bursting with pride when his son was named Best Supporting Actor for his role as The Joker in the Batman movie.

He revealed that Heath considered his portrayal of The Joker his best role ever.

"He would have been running from the media, but he would have been very proud," The Daily Express quoted Kim, as saying.

"He just loved it. People have said that it's a dark piece and that brought him down but that just didn't occur. The Heath juggernaut is just rolling on, I just wish he was here while it was rolling on," he added.

Kim revealed that it was a touching moment for him when Heath got a standing ovation at the award ceremony.

"We didn't know whether he would win or not - you can't take anything for granted. And the mere fact that everybody stood for him and give him a standing ovation, I mean that really hit us in the heart, you know? I just really wish our boy was here to see that," Kim said. (ANI)
