London, Oct 14 Midfielder Steven Gerrard last night admitted that he is worried about his future in the England team.

England will play Belarus tomorrow in a crucial World Cup qualifier with a huge question mark still hanging over the midfield partnership of Gerrard and Frank Lampard.

Coach Fabio Capello is expected to stick with them both for now, although Gerrard may be shunted out to the left-hand side, The Sun reported.

However, in the long term, the Liverpool skipper fears that he could be ditched should Capello fail to solve the puzzle.

Gerrard, 28, said: "If he decides to go with Frank and not with me, I will work hard to get back into the team. I am sure Frank will do the same if it's him. The manager has shown he is prepared to make changes. He doesn't care who the big hitters are."

"Me and Lampard and other issues aren't as important as the fact that this team is improving slowly. We've a good manager - he's going to change personnel and tactics both before and during games so I don't think it is always going to be me and Frank there anyway," he added.

"I think I have delivered on a number of occasions but I have to make that more consistent. The next challenge for me is to stay in this starting XI and produce as consistently for England as I do for Liverpool," Gerrard further said.

Gerrard is likely to keep his place because Capello will want his experience in the absence of John Terry and Ashley Cole. (ANI)
