Kuala Lumpur, June 15 The Malaysian Indian Business Association has called for a trade boycott of Sri Lanka in an effort to pressure its government to address humanitarian concerns in the war-torn state. Association president P. Sivakumar expressed hope that all Indian-owned businesses in Malaysia would support the call, Malaysian Nanban reported. He said all businesses should make the stand on humanitarian grounds, adding that trade squeeze was the most effective form of pressure. Sivakumar urged the Sri Lanka Government to allow aid groups, media and independent groups to the conflict zone to help out civilians displaced by its war against Tamil Tiger separatists. (ANI)
