New Delhi, July 14 (ANI): A group of physically challenged people recently enthralled audiences with their 'dance on wheels'.

The artistes came together under the aegis of 'Ability Unlimited' to put up a performance of 'Bharatnatyam' a classical dance form and surprised everybody by their indomitable spirit.

They set aside the stereotype of being pitied upon by the society and turned their disability to their advantage by using the wheels of their wheelchairs to dance away to glory.

The procedure took long hours of practice and hard work by the artistes to put up the spectacular performance.

This is for the first time that such a feat has been performed by these disabled people.

"We have opened the arena for all the disabled people so they can come and express," said Syed Sallaudin Pasha, Choreographer and Director, Ability Unlimited.

For the dancers, it was an exhilarating experience to give such a performance and they were quite elated with it.

"It felt really nice to give this performance," said Hemlata, a dancer.

The main aim behind putting up this performance was to send out a message to the people that the physically challenged are not to be pitied upon and if they set their hearts on doing something, they can come out with flying colours. (ANI)
