GlobalLogic, the leader in global product development services, today announced the appointment of twenty-five year industry veteran Boris Shnayder to head the company’s Telecommunications (Telecom) Business Unit. Shnayder will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the business unit, which operates from the company’s delivery centers in India and Ukraine.
“I am extremely excited to have Boris join GlobalLogic’s operational leadership team, as we will benefit immensely from his experience, proven record of success and passion for technology,” said Mukul Jain, Chief Operating Officer, GlobalLogic.
Shnayder joins GlobalLogic from Motorola, where he managed highly distributed international teams involved in the development of handsets for U.S. and international CDMA carriers. Before Motorola, Shnayder was executive director at Telcordia, the leading provider of solutions to telecom service providers. He also worked as a consultant to software development companies such as Bellcore, Bell Labs and DP Communications.
“GlobalLogic has achieved a leadership position by delivering what its clients want: strong partnerships resulting in value-driven software product lifecycle solutions that help our clients bring great products to market faster and at less cost,” said Shnayder. “Through deep technical knowledge combined with Velocity™, its distributed agile development method and open source platform, GlobalLogic is well positioned to meet the needs of its clients. My charter is to grow the Telecom BU across all GlobalLogic delivery centers. I look forward to helping GlobalLogic continue to innovate and build on its impressive record of outstanding performance.”
GlobalLogic has developed a unique joint-venture model of partnering with technology companies to create a dedicated global delivery center. By leveraging its global facilities and worldclass engineers, a partnership with GlobalLogic increases product quality while dramatically reducing timelines and operating costs, often by more than 60%.
According to the technology and market research company Forrester Research, global product development has grown over a four year period from $300 million to over $3 billion in 2006. Forrester believes the growth rate of this segment will outpace traditional IT services globalization. GlobalLogic expects to continue leveraging its deep domain and technology expertise in Mobile, VoIP, SaaS, Web 2.0, Embedded, Business Intelligence, QA and Financial Applications, to remain an important partner to emerging and established technology leaders for global software product development.
