Chandigarh, Nov 16 A three-day exhibition in Chandigarh, showcasing and selling bridal products is attracting customers from across the State.

'2009 Wedding Asia', which is taking place at Hotel Taj here, displayed designer wedding trousseau, jewelleries, cosmetics and beauty aid, photography and video production, perfumes, floral design, catering services, interiors and home furnishings, honeymoon planners within the budgets of people from each and every strata.

The organiser of the event, Maninder Singh Sethi said that the purpose behind this exhibition was to give the customers an opportunity to do their entire shopping at one place.

"Big Fat Punjabi wedding references are given everywhere. Basically the idea behind organising 'Wedding Asia' is like we are bringing all the major players in Indian wedding industry at one common platform which facilitates the visitors, giving them opportunity to do their entire wedding shopping at one platform within three days," said Maninder Singh Sethi organiser, Excelsior Public Relations.

The stall owners seemed quite happy with the response they received from the customers during the exhibition.

"We are getting very good response. This is our third exhibition in four months. We are getting equally good response as buying capacity is very high in Chandigarh," said Sachin, a stall owner of B B Javeri Private Limited.

The exhibition showcased tantalizing products for the new and to-be brides and grooms. Customers were seen engrossed in checking out the designer collections at various stalls. "The concept is very good for people who have upcoming weddings because you get so much of variety under one roof. You have lots of jewellery in traditional, artificial, silver, gold and diamond. Then you get designer Indian wear under one roof and at good prices," said Shikha Kohli, a visitor.

The fact that North India led by Punjab is a fast growing market for wedding products was the main reason behind organising such a Wedding exhibition in Chandigarh. By Sunil Sharma(ANI)
