New Delhi, Nov 16 President Pratibha Patil on Monday called for strengthening the rural health infrastructure and urged young doctors to work in these areas for better health care facilities

Speaking on the occasion of 37th convocation of the All India Medical Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patil said by serving in rural areas, not only would doctors be doing good work for the nation, but the stint would be a valuable addition to their professional experience.

She strongly advocated the use of tele medicine techniques for cheaper and effective treatment across the country.

She expressed concern that millions of people living in villages have little access to quality health care and doctors have a great role in making this facility available to people .

President Patil said that the government has launched the ambitious National Rural Health Mission to provide quality healthcare to the remotest parts of the country. (ANI)
