Patna, Nov 16 Scores of candidates claiming success in a police recruitment test held in 2004, protested in Patna on Monday demanding jobs in the department.

According to reports, the protestors had cleared a recruitment test for Bihar Police and Bihar Military Police (BMC) in 2004, but were still not employed in the police department.

The protestors blocked a busy road of the city and tried to burn the effigy of State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Policemen stopped the agitators and had to baton charge to disperse the unruly crowd.

However, a senior police official denied using force.

"These people blocked the road without any information. The traffic is now back to normal. We didn't use any force," said Ajay Kumar Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Patna.

Two protestors have been arrested for involvement in the incident. (ANI)
