Yekaterinburg (Russia) June 17 The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, is on his way home after attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the BRIC, summits. The three day visit, Singh's first foreign tour after coming back to power at the centre was used by him to project India's views on global melt down, terrorism, extremist ideologies, and cross border drug trafficking. At the BRIC summit on Tuesday, Dr Singh pitched for implementation of steps identified by the G-20 summit to tackle the global financial crisis. He also stressed on the need for developing economies in having the greater voice and representation in international financial institutions. He also used his visit to tell Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, that his country must stop terrorists from launching attacks on India. Both Singh and Zardari have directed their respective foreign secretaries to meet next month to address the issue of terrorism. Dr Singh also held talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Chinese President Hu Jintao, and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.(ANI)
