Ahmedabad, Oct 18 Tibetan Prime Minister-in-exile Samdhong Rinpoche on Sunday expressed hope that the tension between India and China would soon clear away. Rinpoche said this during his visit to the Gujarat Vidyapeeth, a deemed university in Ahmedabad. "For past few months China has adopted an aggressive attitude and is indulging in many provocative activities, which is being tolerated by Indian Government in a very passive manner. I don't think the tension will rise further, it will go away slowly," Rinpoche said. Recently, there has been a flurry of reports in media of tension between the two countries over Arunachal Pradesh border dispute. The Government has all along asserted that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and that the people of that state have a democratic right to elect a Government of their choice. However, Beijing lays claim to 90,000 sq km of land in the border state, that it sees as 'southern' Tibet. There were also reports of Chinese incursions along the border, which has been shrugged off by both governments. (ANI)
