Dubai, Nov 18 (IANS) Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh is looking to end the European Tour in style with an impressive finish at the Dubai World Championships starting here Thursday.

At the breathtaking Earth golf course here, Jeevd played the Pro-Am Tuesday was back at the course Wednesday morning for some practice.

'I love the layout and had a good look at it. I hope I can round off the European Tour season in style,' said Jeev, who will tee of with Rafael Cabrera-Bello in the first round.

Two years ago, Jeev won the season-ending Volvo Masters of Europe, which has now been replaced by Dubai World Championships.

Asked about his chances, Jeev said: 'I am playing well and feel no niggles that have bothered me earlier this season.'

On the course, he said: 'It is a beautiful and breathtaking course. It is a great layout. It is meant for the residents of the Jumeirah Estates but it is also a great course for a big championships like the Dubai World Championships. I think Greg (Norman) has done a great job. It is a course that both amateurs and professionals will love it.'

Jeev, who is a Brand Ambassadors for Jumeirah Estates, was very happy with his first full round at the course.

'I had seven birdies during the course of the Pro-Am and only two bogeys. The course is young and it should produce a good score,' he said. 'I expect the greens to be quick and firm when the championships start.'

Jeev, who has been hit by injuries at various times during the season, is 37th on Race to Dubai, but will be looking to put in a good performance to climb up the rankings. He is coming into the event with confidence after shooting a final round 66 in the UBS Hong Kong Open last week where he finished in a tie for 36th.

'Last week I played well in Hong Kong. And after the Pro-Am I am feeling very good and I hope to do well. I have two more events this year. I will play the World Cup at Mission Hills and then I will defend my title, Golf Nippon JT Cup in Japan,' said Jeev.

On his season as a whole, Jeev said: 'It is indeed a irony that in a year I did not win and saw my rankings drop, I made it to the PGA Tour. After some hiccups during the season, I am feeling absolutely fit, no niggles, no aches or pains and the season is almost over.'
