New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS) Global travel management firm Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) will move its back office business from other countries to India to tap the fast-growing opportunities in the Indian market, a senior official said Wednesday.

'Certainly, we are looking for double-digit growth in India. We will move our back office services from other countries to India,' said Martin Warner, chief operations officer of CWT for the Asia-Pacific region.

'We will serve more customers through our International Service Centre in Gurgaon (near New Delhi),' Warner said.

At present, India contributes $400 million to CWT's total capital gains worth $24 billion.

'India as a market is very small. We have all high-profile corporate houses in India on our roll. We share 50 percent of the market share'' Warner said.

He added that the company would continue to focus on the corporate sector for majority of its business.

'We know there are other avenues like the public sector units and banks in India. But we haven't explored that,' Warner said.

He, however, said CWT was providing services to government entities the US, Britain and Australia.

According to CWT, India is the third largest market in terms of outbound traffic in the Asia Pacific region, with 900,000 transactions every year.

Currently, the company has 10 offices and 900 employees in India.

Warner said there were signals of an early economic recovery as corporate results in the July-September quarter had been 'very encouraging'.

'There is a return of business confidence. The shape of the economy is now very strong. There has been very dramatic return to business and we have been able to increase earnings by 50 to 60 percent over the last few week',' he said.
