London, Dec 18 A writer and cartoonist, who was left totally paralysed after a stroke has learned to write again, courtesy a special computer developed by specialists at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability.

The new computer system has given an opportunity to Piotr Kniecicki to again write his poetry.

Polland based Kniecicki, 52, suffered a severe stroke in April 2001 left him 90 per cent paralysed.

He can only move his eyes and has limited movement in his left wrist.

Now, with the help of the new computer he has been able to publish three collections of poetry.

While using the slight movement he has in his wrist, he is able to select individual letters from a special grid.

"I'm writing because I want to prove to myself and others that even in such a miserable physical condition, one can ignite something positive out of one's brain, if it still remains active," the Telegraph quoted Kniecicki as telling in an article for hospital website. (ANI)
