New Delhi, Oct 19 Indian weddings now appear like copycat versions of on-screen marriages in Bollywood movies. Those with deep pockets make outfits like those worn by film stars.arul Kalra, a bride, said she was wearing her dream outfit. Her inspiration come from superstar Shahrukh Khan's movie "Rab ne Bana di Jodi". The fact that her designer wedding outfit costs 30,000 rupees, does not dampen her mood. "It's only once in a lifetime affair. It's my day. Everyone is looking at me. So I thought of wearing a designer suit. This is a similar dress worn by the actress of a Bollywood movie called "Rab ne Bana di Jodi," Kalra said. Wedding planners ride piggyback on the Bollywood craze. From designer jewelry to tattoos, dicor items in exquisite styles, and even venues resembling film sets, all are thrown in for the lavish weddings. "They don't mind spending money these days. All they want is Karishma and Kareena's clothes and even if they cost for 50-30 thousand rupees they really don't care. It's just that they want that perfect look that Bollywood people have," said Gunjan Nagpal, fashion designer. The growing affluence of the middle class has given the wedding market a huge boost. No expense is spared to make the event a memorable one.Sometimes families spend a lifetime's savings on clothes, jewelry and decorations. (ANI)
