Washington, Nov 20 Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has apologised for wearing fox fur in a Tod's ad and is back on good terms with PETA. The 36-year-old actress came under fire from the animal rights campaigners after she appeared in Italian designer Tod's advertising campaign. PETA's senior vice president, Dan Mathews revealed that they chatted with the actress at the Fontainebleau Hotel opening in Miami over the weekend. According to Mathews, Paltrow admitted that she did not know that the fur was real, reports Usmagazine.com She told Mathews, "It was a daylong photo shoot on a boat near Capri, and there were all sorts of poses with all kinds of clothes - none with fur. "During one set-up, a stylist came up from behind and draped a stole around my shoulder. She continued: "I didn't pay much attention to it, and when I noticed it was fur, I assumed it was fake fur, but did not ask, so it's my fault. I was very surprised when they ended up using that one shot out of hundreds for the centerpiece of the Tod's ads. "I know it's not a great excuse, but I hope you and your members understand." Recently, actress Kate Winslet was also caught in a similar situation, when she appeared in Vanity Fair posing on a fur rug she thought was fake. (ANI)
