Bikaner, On Wednesday Farmers started their agitation by coming in a huge number at Bikaner Collectorate for water and canal related problems under the banner of “Samajik Kranti Manch”. They reached Urmul circle in trucks and tractors from Shobhsar. From there they walked down to the collectorate and organized a meeting on road. The meeting was being leaded by Dausa M.P. Kirori Lal Meena and the president of “Samajik Kranti Manch” Govind Ram Meghwal. Many farmers from adjoining villages of Bikaner like Shobhasar,
Kolayat, Khajuwala, Pugal participated in this assembly. Clusters of farmers were echoing in only one voice that they need water for their crops and in the absence of water they are being compelled to commit suicide. This is notable that Rajasthan is facing famine from a long and if villagers do not get water, how will they be able to produce crops on time.
Kirorilal told that “Water is the prime right of farmers and they must get it. Their demands are justified and for that if they have to bear bullets or Lathi then also they should not hold back. Government should leave its persistence and listen the 27 demands of farmers.”
“It is known that because of lack of rain there are severe conditions in the villages like Khajuwala and others but Government is not giving a heed towards it. So seeing the condition of villagers we had to run this movement. We will not over this movement until Government accept our demands”, said the party president of “Samajik Kranti Manch”. Top executives from the district administration talked to the leaders after the meeting .
