Islamabad, Nov.21 A day after Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh asserted that India is committed to resolving all outstanding issues with Pakistan through bilateral negotiations, Islamabad has blamed New Delhi of deliberately delaying the peace talks.

Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit criticised India for the delay in the resumption of bilateral talks, saying it is not serious about resolving the long pending Kashmir and water issues with Pakistan.

Basit said Pakistan wants result-oriented talks with India.

"We are not interested in mere photo sessions. India's behaviour testified that it does not want peace in the region," The Daily Times quoted Basit, as saying.

He also criticised New Delhi for blaming Islamabad for not being serious about tackling the internal terror threat, adding that the whole world has recognised Pakistan's sacrifices in the 'war on terror'.

It may be noted that Dr.Singh, in an interview with a US daily, had said that New Delhi is committed to resolve all outstanding issues with Pakistan through bilateral negotiations.

"We are committed to resolving all outstanding issues with Pakistan through bilateral negotiations. Our only condition is that Pakistan should not allow its territory to be used for acts of terrorism against India," Dr.Singh said in the interview with the Washington Post.

"Everyday, I receive intelligence reports saying that terrorists based in Pakistan are planning other similar acts. If Pakistan really honours that commitment, we can go back to negotiation to resolve all outstanding issues between us," he added. (ANI)
